Which one has better quality?

i don\'t think it\'s easy to find both lenses these days;both had been discontinued as far as i remember. Back to your question, i say each has its pros and cons. The Sigma has HSM and better distortion control whereas the Tamron excels in flare resistance. The Sigma is well built mechanically though some hates its coating; it is FTM and IF. In temrs of sharpness, they don\'t differ that much but the Tamron is perhaps a tad better. There are also minor differences like weight and star effect at night.

I would recommend you do a search at PFC;the two lenses were well dicussed a few years back....

I was a owner of T 17-35 back in my Pentax days....

Thanks for your opinion in details, this is very helpful!
Actaully, I try to find one of those Lens (may be 2nd hand)... feel interesting with a lower prices than L len.
